Orlando-based artist collective, B-Side Artists, return to City Arts Factory for their annual B-Side showcase with brand new works, a larger roster, a merchandise pop-up shop and an even greater standard of excellence and artistry. This year the focus is removed from a central theme or concept, and is set on a no-holds-barred gallery experience where the entire wall space is filled floor to ceiling with new works and artist murals.

Due to the overwhelming turnout last year to the 2012 “B-Side Artists Sell Out,” we will be spreading the opening of this year’s exhibit over a three day period. First, Wednesday, June 19th 4-7pm will be a preview event open to all press, art collectors and curators interested in getting a first look at the artwork and event before the madness of the following evening. Members of the B-Side Artists will be there to answer questions and provide a full guided experience of the exhibit.
Thursday, June 20th 6-10pm will be the official opening of the new exhibit and will be a part of the Downtown Orlando Arts District 3rd Thursday Art Stroll and catered by Ocean Prime. As with previous years, this opening event will be completely packed, and so for those members of the public who would like to avoid the large crowds and be able to view and purchase the artwork at their own comfort, we have created an additional event the following night.
Friday, June 21st 6-10pm will be our second opening event geared towards the same experience as the previous evening, but without the literal shoulder rubbing and body heat. There will be live music for this night as well as a special “Meet the Artists” segment with an up-close introduction to the new members of the B-Side Artist collective: Boy Kong, Wolfrich, Chris Reason and Kittens of Industry.
B-Side Artists is Orlando based collective comprised of 7 original members, but the group does not have a limited number of participants. The B-Side refers to the B-Side of the tape cassette or the flip side of a record. In the 80's it seemed to be common knowledge that whenever you bought an album or were introduced to something new in the mainstream, it's twin opposite shined a little harder...thus, allowing the underground to emerge. B-Side Artists is the urban youth underdog that continues to surprise pop-culture with it's style, bold content, & willingness to create in artistically a-typical conditions.
